Our students learn algorithmic thinking, which is a piece of very valuable knowledge, even if not all of them will become a programmer. We will help them learn new programming languages and technologies by letting them play games relevant to their age group, using their acquired skills. The individual and group activities significantly enhance the creativity, problem-solving, and communication skills of the children. It is very important that the children feel the experience of being successful and they become open and brave to initiate their ideas. This will have a positive effect on their results in school.
It is natural for children to use computers, tablets, and smartphones. By teaching them computer coding, we enable children to spend their screen time not only as passive users but as active creators.
No preliminary training, exceptional mathematical, or IT knowledge is required. Anyone can program, it is worth giving it a try.
Our youngest students are 6 years old, but we believe that anyone can start programming at any age, it is never too late!
Our trainers are enthusiastic young university students who are very good at programming. Besides their programming knowledge, they are also patient, helpful, and know how to communicate with children. Before they start teaching, they participate in a professional and pedagogical training organized by Logiscool.
Application for a Logiscool course or camp is possible exclusively via our website. Please select the required school under the "Schools" menu item and fill out the application form on the website of the required school. During the application period, the school manager will confirm the applications based on group schedules and availability.
We organize Open Days in our schools regularly, typically during the application period, before the start of the semesters. Students and their parents interested in our courses are all welcome at these events. During the Open Days, we introduce Logiscool to the parents. Meanwhile, children can have a glimpse into the exciting world of programming and also get the chance to code without any specific preliminary training or qualification. For more information about the date and time of our Open Days, please click on the "Schools" menu item and select the required school.
We offer classroom-based and online courses and camps in more than 20 different coding and digital topics, e.g. programming, robotics, mobile application and web design, game design, digital intro (for the youngest ones), and more. By selecting the required school under the "Our schools" menu item, you can view the courses offered by the required school.
We have camps typically during school holidays. During the winter or spring break, we organize 3-4 day-long camps, and during the summer holidays, we have weekly camps (5 days). We organize camps on various topics from computer coding, application design, robotics, and artificial intelligence to adventure game creator, Minecraft Roblox, video production, Youtube Studio camps, and more in our schools and online. The available camps may differ in different countries and locations. By selecting the required school under the "Our schools" menu item, you can view the camps offered by a given school.
In the academic year 2020-2021, our courses usually start on 14 September, but please note that some of our school schedules may slightly differ from this date. Select 'Our schools' in the menu and click on the requested school to double-check the start date. The second-semester courses start on 1 February 2021. In this academic year, our courses finish on 7 June 2021. The curriculum of our courses consists of modules built on each other and running for several years. Several years are required to learn programming at an advanced level, similarly to learning a foreign language or to obtain musical knowledge.
At Logiscool, we have 1.5-hour (2x45 minutes) lessons once a week. Lessons can be on weekdays, starting from 3:00 PM or from 4:40 PM, on Saturday mornings from 9:30 AM and from 11:10 AM. In some of our schools, the timetable of lessons may very from this schedule. (You can find more information on the start times by clicking on 'Our schools' in the menu, and then on the required school.) The earlier start times are usually recommended for younger students.
Our beginner students are grouped based on their age. We offer separate groups for children attending the 1-2nd grade, 3-5th grade, 6-8th grade, and 9th+ grade. If required and is possible based on the number of applications, we can also start a girls-only group.
Yes, it is possible to join our courses within 3 weeks from the start date. Students joining late have the opportunity to make up for the missed lessons and catch up with the class.
Yes, but it doesn’t happen too often. :) In this case, we hope that the participant comes back later to a course or to a summer camp. Based on the General Terms and Conditions, only the payment of the monthly installment for the already started month is required, you don't have to pay the additional installments.
The course fee and the number of sessions within a given course may vary in our schools. The course fee can be paid in one amount or in monthly installments (except for the fractional installments for the first and last month of the course). A Logiscool school year usually consists of 2x17, i.e. 34 sessions, where one session is 2x45 minutes long.
According to our policy, if a child misses a lesson, we always provide an opportunity to make up for the missed lesson. The extra lesson/opportunity is always agreed with the parent by the School Coordinator.
Yes, but only if the age difference between the siblings is not more than 2 years. The reason is that in such cases, the older child might get bored because based on their age they could advance quicker, or the younger sibling could lag behind as the curriculum may be too difficult for their age.
Our program is designed with several modules and for several years of study. The first module has different lessons and lasts for several months (usually during a school semester, but there are also shorter intensive courses). After completing the first module, students can continue the course either in-Logiscool or online. With each lesson and module, the complexity of the work tasks increases, which allows students to discover and apply new notions of programming.
The LIVE online course is similar to our in-Logiscool courses: it consists of 90-minute long weekly sessions. The online course takes place on the age-appropriate Microsoft Teams video conferencing platform. Groups have 6-8 students only so that the lesson can run optimally for all participants. During the live session, students follow the instructions of the trainer. To keep the lesson interactive, students can see the trainer's shared screen, and they can also share their screen with the instructor for guidance in real-time. The curriculum taught in the online course is the same as the one in our in-class courses, and the same as the one used in all Logiscool schools in Europe, the USA, and Asia.
All students, regardless of their age, start learning to code with the help of visual programming. This way of working allows them to understand the algorithmic thinking required to write code. In this visual programming module (called Blox), they create cool games, animations, and projects, using more and more complicated commands. Later, they start using visual commands and written code in parallel (in Mixed mode). After becoming familiar with the code written in Scoolcode, our education platform, students can turn to other programming languages, such as JavaScript, Unity, or Python.
